Why MA?

Marijuana Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share our experience, strength, and hope with each other so that we may solve our common problem and help others to recover from marijuana addiction.

Established in 1989, MA emerged from Alcoholics Anonymous using the 12 Step recovery program to connect people with a desire to stop smoking marijuana.

We figured out how to stop using marijuana, one day at a time.

On this site, you'll find useful information if you live in or around Los Angeles and you believe marijuana may be a problem for you and your life. You'll find useful info for online meetings and sponsors here, as well.

SPEAK WITH a marijuana addict

Considering sobriety? Talking to someone who used to smoke marijuana just like you can make all the difference.

There's always a marijuana addict in recovery available to answer your questions about our 12-Step program, whether for you or for someone else who may have a problem with marijuana.  Leave a message and someone will get back to you right away.

Providing guidance on health issues is outside the scope of MA. We suggest contacting the CDC, state and local health authorities for appropriate information.

Remember that isolation can threaten recovery. Please reach out using the phone list of your home meeting. If you do not have a phone list, please contact your meeting's secretary, or contact MA District 7 via info.madistrict7@gmail.com

MA District 7 has video meetings online. We also have many in-person meetings that have opened back up.

Check the MEETINGS page for detailed info & find a group you connect with!
